The recipients include the following: Jared Bergman – New Bremen High School, Lea Grieshop – St. Henry High School and Elijah Rich – Parkway High School. The graduating seniors received their scholarship certificates during a reception at Celina Insurance Group on May 18, 2021.
Jared is the son of Terry and Rhonda Bergman, New Bremen. He will attend Wright State University to major in Computer Science.
Lea will be majoring in Accounting and Finance at The Ohio State University at Newark. She is the daughter of Ryan and Julie Grieshop, St. Henry.
Elijah is the son of Doug and Jennifer Rich, Rockford. He plans to attend Bowling Green State University to study Economics.
Celina Insurance Group established the scholarship for graduating seniors pursuing a degree relating to the insurance business. Seniors in Auglaize or Mercer County or a child/grandchild of a current Celina Insurance Group employee were eligible to apply. The top three applicants were selected based on a written essay on actions they can take as a potential insurance policyholder to help build their credit score and lessen insurance premiums.
Bill Montgomery, Celina Insurance Group President and CEO, noted, “We are pleased to join our staff in awarding these scholarships to Jared, Lea and Elijah. Celina encourages young people to consider a career in the property & casualty insurance field and returning to this area.”
