CELINA, Ohio, June 12, 2024 — Celina Insurance Group will host a community blood drive with the American Red Cross on June 19 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The public is invited to schedule an appointment to donate blood at the company’s home office.

Celina Insurance Group has hosted 18 Red Cross blood drives since 2018. The drives have resulted in 486 units collected from 522 donors, and over 80 Celina staff members have participated. Employees have the option to donate during their workday as part of the company’s wellness program.

“Time and time again, Celina employees and community members have rolled up their sleeves—literally—to work toward the common good,” Bill Montgomery, Celina President and CEO, said. “By donating blood, you have the remarkable opportunity to help save a life, and I encourage everyone who is able to donate to consider doing so.”

With someone in the U.S. needing blood every two seconds, blood products must be constantly replenished, according to the Red Cross. The organization recently shared that donations are critically needed, and while donors of all blood types are sought, type O positive and O negative blood donors are especially crucial.

Those interested in donating blood at Celina’s June 19 drive at 1 Insurance Square can sign up online at redcrossblood.org with the sponsor code “celinains.” On the day of the drive, donors should enter through the office’s main entrance, which is located on the east side of the building. Celina will also host a blood drive on August 22 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
